Now, for the second year, an official Panda has been struck in the shape of a heart. On one side are a pair of Pandas. On the other is a moonlit scene of a bamboo forest. The Valentine Bamboo Panda is an outstanding gift for the holidays, or the perfect addition to any Panda coin collection. It is a product of the official Shenyang Mint, China’s oldest mint and is struck in pure .999 silver.

As in 2016, the design is by one of China's best-known mint artists, Chang Huan. She is the artist for the 2006 Panda and the famous 2012 5 oz. gold 30th Anniversary Panda. She has been the subject of television documentaries and interviews and is profiled in the special 35th Panda Anniversary issue of the official China Gold Coin Culture magazine published by China Gold Coin Inc., the agency that issues all Chinese gold and silver coins. It is a very special honor to present a Chang Huan designed Panda to the public.

The mintage is only 300 and no more of these 1 oz. silver Valentine Pandas will ever be struck. By special arrangement, they are available FIRST to China Pricepedia subscribers.
